PREPARATION INFORMATON

THE MILTON PLAYERS THEATRE GROUP IS NOW SEEKING DIRECTORS FOR OUR UPCOMING 45TH SEASON

The Shows:

A MURDER IS ANNOUNCED by Agatha Christe, Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Darbon

SHOWDATES: November 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 - 2024

SYNOPSIS: An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock's Victorian house. The victim is not one of the house's several occupants, but an unexpected and unknown visitor. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death and a determined inspector grimly following the case's twists and turns. Fortunately, Miss Marple is on hand to provide the solution – at some risk to herself – in a dramatic final confrontation.

BIENVENUE OH TROUT LAKE By Neil A. Marr

SHOWDATES:  Jan. 31, Feb. 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 - 2025

SYNOPSIS: When Max, Keith and Stan decided they'd get together to celebrate their fiftieth birthdays, they thought they might play a little golf, perhaps get the band together again and reminisce about their glory days. Well, that was the plan, but when Stan brought his new wife along, the weekend in Muskoka didn't go quite as expected.
Neil A. Marr, Stoufville's award winning playwright, follows up 2011's critically acclaimed "P.S. Uncle Angus" with a hysterical comedy that is guaranteed to have you laughing from the first minute to the final curtain.

A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY by Ken Ludwig

SHOWDATES: May 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 - 2025

SYNOPSIS: Set amid the leafy greens of Quail Valley Country Club, Ken Ludwig's A Fox on the Fairway unfolds on the day Quail Valley faces its oldest rival, nearby Crouching Squirrel Golf and Racquet Club, for the golf tournament of the decade.  Battle lines are drawn when the two clubs, like Greece and Troy, assemble their bravest heroes and play on to the final, madcap putt on an 18th hole that is the stuff of legend.  A tribute to the English farces of the 1930s and ’40s, A Fox on the Fairway takes audiences on a riotous ride that recalls the classics of the Marx Brothers.
