PREPARATION

To submit please fill out the google form: https://forms.gle/yE7QVKLjefynymSD6

Audition materials:

Please prepare an approx. 32-bar (1-2 minute) selection from a musical of your choosing that is not Mean Girls. It does not have to be exactly 32 bars, but it must not exceed 2 minutes in length and should ideally come in just over a minute.

Those with an interest in auditioning for Janis, Cady, Regina, Gretchen, and/or Karen should strongly consider preparing something from contemporary musical theatre that showcases a strong belt (Think Heathers, Legally Blonde, Next to Normal, Spring Awakening - these are example shows only). Those with an interest in auditioning for Aaron should consider the same, but demonstrating a belt is not required.

Those with an interest in auditioning for Damian should prepare something from a show with a stronger jazz/classic large showtune influence (Think Anything Goes, Catch Me If You Can, Hairspray).

Those without a specific part of interest should prepare a song from contemporary musical theatre that best shows off their vocal abilities and style that suits their voice - the featured ensemble parts have a variety of needs that we will be looking for in auditions.

There will be piano accompaniment provided for the audition. Please prepare sheet music for the audition pianist that has both the vocal and accompaniment parts together, and that clearly indicates the cuts to get to the 1-2 minutes of music.

Sides from the script will be sent approximately one week in advance of your audition.

For those asked to attend callbacks, you will be asked to learn specific music from the show, participate in jazz and tap dance calls, and potentially read more sides.

SYNOPSIS

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.
