DIRECTORS WANTED FOR 2010/2011 SEASON
Group Name: The Oakville Players
Plays: Wait Until Dark - Novemeber 2010 / The Importance of Being Earnest - March 2011
Details: Award winning theatre troupe, The Oakville Players seeks directors for it's upcoming 2010/2011 season. These two main productions are on the main stage of The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. A third production, during August 2011, will be produced in the studio theatre of the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts as well.
If you wish to be considered as Director for one of our productions, please respond with cover letter and resume by Friday, February 26, 2010.
All interested candidates are urged to attend our upcoming production of ‘An Inspector Calls’ by J.B. Priestley running March 4th to 7th and 10th to 13th at the Oakville Centre.

Preparation: Two contrasting songs, (one from the show). 32 bars from each to be sung. Please bring sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist; All people auditioning may be asked to do some basic range and/or musicianship tests.
A 2 minute contemporary monologue (Neil Simon preferred but not from Sweet Charity) Be prepared to dance at the auditions. All are invited, in particular those women interested in Charity, Helene and Nicki to prepare a short self-choreographed dance to maximum of 32 bars of your choice of music, keeping in mind the era of the 60's. Please have your tape or CD cued to the correct spot. Everyone will be required to attend a group dance audition that will be scheduled once every hour. Anyone who has outstanding gymnastic and acrobatic ability will be given an opportunity to show their "best stuff". Please bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.

Requirements: The Director is looking for actors with lots of energy and a playful spirit. Actors interested in Harriet, Gordon, Alec and Anne must be comfortable on stage in their underwear. Please prepare a short (1-2 minutes) comedic monologue and be prepared to read from the play. British accent is not required for the Audition, but actors should be prepared to perform with an accent at Callback. Please bring a résumé and headshot – a photocopy will do. You should read the play before auditioning. The script is on reserve at the Performing Arts Desk, 5th floor, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street.
